We opened to the public in February 2021. Jean's is named after Lyndon's Nana, who was an influence on his decision to become a Chef, we saw the old Ancient Grains building up for lease and we enquired. Lyndon's ability to impulse buy, meant it wasn't long before we took on the lease, Jeans is in a weird way an ode to Lyndon's Nana, who was always baking away in her Kitchen.
Caressa and Lyndon meet in Chicago in 2016, and have lived, and travelled round the world ever since, however every morning regardless there was always Coffee, Croissants and probably a couple of Almond Croissants to.
We have been lucky enough to able to bring something we are both passionate about too Upper Hutt (Lyndon's Home) and despite the abuse we got when we opened, we have been growing ever since.
We are fortunate enough to provide Good Fortune Coffee, which is roasted down the road in Petone.
We bake fresh every morning and what we don't sell we pass on to other local business.
We use New Zealand Butter which is some of the best in the world and sought after around the world. All our products are hand made, our Viennoiseries take three days to make, the slow and long fermentation helps develop a deeper flavor. While our Sourdough loaves are left to chill for 24hrs before being baked.
